 What a pleasant time we had with Mary Huey, a great history lesson about the civil war and the hand pieced blocks the girls made were fabulous.  I think if we get enough interest we could get Mary to come back.  I
 As you may have heard Debbie took a full time job this month, so I will soon be looking for some experienced help.  She will still be teaching so you will still see her at the shop, and all of you signed up for classes, not to worry.

2012 Thimbleberries Club

We’ve received our information on the NewThimbleberries Club  “ Pattern Party”.  Registration forms are here at the shop, this year you will purchase a book with everything you will need for club.  Meetings will be on the second Thursday of the month, morning group at 10:30 and evening group at 6 pm.  Your membership entitles you to a 15% discount on all Thimbleberries products, previews of new books, patterns, and fabrics, some half scale projects, and quarterly drawings of Thimbleberries products. Kits are available for order on the 4 club projects.
 
                                                               
“The Christmas Panel Embellishment Challenge”
 
I’ve put together a Raindeer games panel and 5 fat quarters. You can do whatever you want with the panel, just use some of it in your quilt and use some YOYO’s - RICK RACK - BUTTONS - PAINT or whatever you can come up with to embellish your  quilted piece.  Packages will be $20.00  Limited supply available. Due Date will be Dec. 31st
A $100.00 Gift Certificate will be awarded to the best embellished piece.
Each person who returns a finished piece will receive a participation gift.

Circle of Friends
Begins  Sat. Oct.  22  ~  1 – 4 pm
Teacher:  Deb Shepler  -  9 month class
 This is a quilt designed by Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek featuring 1930 reproduction fabrics from Marcus Brothers.  It is not necessary to use those fabrics; using your favorite color palette would also make a beautiful quilt.  The program is a 9-monthsfeaturing a block of the month and then assembling the quilt.  Class Fee: $100.00 + patterns

Winterberry Lane
Starts Sat. Nov. 12 ~ 10 am – 3 pm
This is a class to help you stay on track with making the quilt.  In each class we will work on a panel section of the quilt.  If you keep up you will have the top done before Christmas.  If you purchased our kit you have everything you will need.
Fee for  classes: $40.00  If you purchased our kit $25.00  Kits are still available.

Homespun Jacket

Wow! What a stunner this jacket is.  You could be stepping out this fall in style.  It’s a two class jacket that is custom fit.Our sample is done in plaids but any fabric will do.
Fee $40.00 ~ plus pattern.

Green Tea Harvest
Sat Oct. 15th  ~  1 – 4 pm
Our sample is made from one of the wonderful Bali Pops by Hoffman, you could use any 2 ½” strip back or make your own for this breath taking quilt.  Deb will show you how easy it is to cut and piece the quilt, and also how to save your

Miss Joy’s Scrap Busters

Pack up you scraps and join me for some organization tips and block building.  I had great fun playing with my scraps to make the quilts from Miss Rosie’s Spice of Life book, Truly Charming and Love Chains.  And the great thing is you can cut for a couple of quilts at the same time.   Fee $20.00 + Book

Saratoga / Villa Rosa
Sat. Nov. 5 ~ 1 - 4 pm
 
Villa Rosa is a pattern company that has produced a line of postcard patterns.  These are quick, quilts that use fat quarters, and other cuts to make the quilts.  They are almost all lap size but very easy to enlarge.  I hope we can work on a different postcard a month starting with Saratoga in Nov. and Ice Tea Dec. 3rd.Fee $10.00 per month

Newport Bag

Deb made this charming bag from the Grace charm pack by Moda, and it’s perfect for the holiday season. You can make it from any charm pack or 5” squares of your stash fabrics. If you took Debbie’s jacket class you could make the bag from the scraps or an accompanying fabric and have a set.

Classes are a way for us to stay on track and finish our projects.  They can be great fun and occasionallywe may even learn something that will work for us.  I promise you, here you will laugh.Remember when you take a class at the Patch we are a No Perfume Zone, Thank you in advance it makes it easier for me to breath.You will need the book, pattern or tools that are used for class.  We appreciate your purchasing supplies here but it is not requiredto take class.  We have a fridge so please feel free to bring a lunch or snack to class and please remember to be on time.
